On the reports page, you can view all the reports and statistics attached to your assessment.

Each report shows the students marks and grades using the parameters outlined in the related mark sheet. You can create any number of mark sheets, with different parameters, so you can compare and contrast how the algorithm affects the final student grades.

If you have not entered the overall mark that each group received for their work, then some of the reports will not be available to you. The Web-PA algorithm needs the group marks to be able to calculate the final student grades. Some of the reports, such as the marks awarded and the response info, can be viewed at any time as they do not require the algorithm to produce their results.

Marks / Question
This report shows a breakdown of every mark awarded by every student, to every student, for each of the assessment criteria.

Anonymous Marks / Question
This is an anonymised version of the Marks / Question report and shows a breakdown of every mark awarded by every student in a group, to every student, for each of the assessment criteria.

Instead of student names, the report simply shows Student A, Student B, etc.

Student Web-PA Scores
This report shows an alphabetic listing of all the students who were assessed, along with the Web-PA score they received.

The Web-PA score is the fractional score they received from their peers, which when multiplied by the overall group mark, forms the basis of their final grade.

For more information on the role of the Web-PA score, and how it is calculated, check out the scoring algorithm worked example.

Student Response Info
This report shows information about each student response recorded for your assessment.

This information includes the date and time the response was started, how long the student took, and the name and IP address of the computer used. You can use the information contained in this report to spot trends in student behaviour.

For example, if all the students in a group submitted marks one after the other, in a short amount of time, and from the same computer, you could infer that they were all together when deciding which marks to allocate to each other.

Student Grades
This report shows an alphabetic listing of all the students who were assessed, along with the Web-PA score they received, any penalties they incurred, and of course what their final grade was.

Student Grades / Group
This report shows the students arranged into their groups. For each student, the report lists the Web-PA score they received, any penalties they incurred, and what their final grade was.</rev>

To get started using Web-PA you need to log in to the system.

If you haven't already, login using your normal username and password to begin.

Web-PA Home Page
The Open Assessments list contains all the assessments that you can currently take.

To begin an assessment, simply click it's Take Assessment button.

By selecting the My Assessments link, you can access a list of all the assessments you have ever had.

My Assessments
This page shows all the assessments you have been given.

Open Assessments
This list contains all the assessments that you can currently take.

To begin an assessment, simply click it's Take Assessment button.

Finished Assessments
This list contains all the assessments that have submitted marks for, or which are now closed (i.e. The deadline has passed).

If you took an assessment and submitted marks, then it will be marked COMPLETED. If you failed to take the assessment, it will be marked DID NOT SUBMIT. Failure to take an assessment may mean you are penalised when the peer-assessment marks are calculated.

Some assessments, such as the first in this screenshot, allow you to view feedback on your performance. Your tutor can decide whether an assessment provides feedback or not.

The view feedback link will only appear once the assessment's deadline has passed.

There is more information on the feedback later in this tour.

Taking An Assessment
When taking an assessment you will be presented with a screen like the following:

The Assessment Screen
At the top of the page is a link back to your assessments list. Clicking this link will cancel the assessment and return you to that screen. Any marks you entered will be forgotten, and you can always come back and take the assessment again until the closing deadline!

Next comes a couple of lines of text explaining how the assessments work. You must enter a mark for every member of your team, including yourself. If you have missed some marks out, you will receive a warning when you try to submit the assessment.

The next block is the introductory text written by your lecturer. This will contain any further instructions or reminders relating to your assessment. This text is optional, so some assessments may not use it.

Marking your team mates
The rest of the screen is largely taken up with the assessment form. This form will be broken down into different assessment criteria, which will examine certain aspects of your group's performance, and the key skills you should have employed.

Each criteria on your assessment will look something like this:

The line in bold is the name of the criterion or skill being assessed. In this case, it's Leadership and/or Organisation.

Below the name, there may be a description of this criterion, to better help you gauge what is being assessed. This description is optional, so as with this example, it may not appear.

Next come the descriptions of what the different scores mean. Different academics may use different marking schemes, so these scores and their descriptions may vary. They are optional, but you should always read them for clarification of how to score the criterion. In this example, only the top and bottom scores have been explained.

Finally, there is the marking area. Each member of your team, including you, has their own row. Across the top are the different scores you can allocate for this critieria. For every member of your team, click the appropriate radio-button to assign them their mark.

Typically, the scoring range will be something like 1 to 5, but again, your lecturer may have chosen a different range.

You repeat the marking process for every member and for every criterion or skill. You must give everyone a mark for your scores to be accepted.

When you have completed the assessment and are ready to submit, click the save marks button.

You will receive an on-screen confirmation of your submission, and can then return to the assessments list.

Feedback
One option your lecturer can select is for you to receive feedback on your performance. If feedback is available for a particular assessment, you will see a view feedback link next to it in your My Assessments list. The feedback link will only be appear once the deadline for submissions has passed.

When you view the feedback, you will see something like the following:

The system compares the marks you received, with those received by your team mates and reports on your performance. This feedback is purely descriptive. If you want the actual grade you received, you should contact your lecturer.

For each criterion, you will be described as being:

* Above Average - You scored significantly higher in this section than your team average.
* About Average - You scored pretty much the same as your team average.
* Below Average - You scored significantly lower than your team average.

By reflecting on your performance, you should be able to identify areas where you may be weaker, and work on improving them.
